How this number is made, and what it cannot tell you
Every reading is a direct call to the Intendencia’s public transport endpoint, counting distinct vehicles reporting a position at that moment. It is our own measurement, not a figure taken from anyone’s reporting, and we publish the time of every reading because the hour matters more than the day.
What it cannot tell you: whether your particular line is running, whether buses are full, or whether a stoppage is partial. A count is a blunt instrument. It is good for one question — is the system broadly working this morning — and we do not stretch it further than that.
